I'm here to tell my story towards a BALANCED healthy lifestyle..

It all starts somewhere…from a young age, my mum had me in the kitchen helping her cook, I loved it! As a child there was nothing I wouldn’t eat. If anyone gave me something to try, I would always say yes. I remember all the parents saying to me “you eat everything?!” My mum was rather impressed..

Throughout school, my love for food grew and I studied food technology – even coming top of my year and collecting a nice trophy for it! I also played a lot of sport in school, you name a sport, I would have played it.

It was a no brainer for me to go on to study Nutrition and Health promotion at University, learning even more about what goes into my body and how I can help others to do the same. I studied a double degree in Bachelor of Science (Nutrition) & Bachelor of Science (Health Promotion). It was from here that the realisation of nutrition and exercise going hand in hand lead me to studying a Certificate III and IV in Fitness.

However, I didn’t always have a healthy relationship with food, my body or myself..

However, I didn’t always have a healthy relationship with food, my body or myself..

my university years were just like what you see in films.. a lot of partying, and a lot of eating and drinking. I spent the majority of my early 20’s trying to lose weight, which I told myself would make me happy. I placed the entirety of my self-esteem into the number on the scale. I always thought everyone was judging me, but that was just because I was judging myself.

I looked at my relationship with food, my body and ultimately who I currently was and wanted to be. I worked on me. I acknowledged and worked through the unresolved emotions that created my unhealthy relationship with food and my body in the first place. From this I knew I wanted to find a lifestyle where I can still enjoy life, whilst remaining healthy. I started putting into practice what I had learned through my studies and combined it with what I believe a healthy lifestyle is… and created a perfectly balanced healthy lifestyle that suits me best!

What IS this balanced healthy lifestyle that I created?

What IS this balanced healthy lifestyle that I created?

I like to drink wine with my girl friends at night and have a fruit smoothie that morning. I like to eat chocolate when my mind wants it and vegetables when my body needs it. I like to lift weights one day and Netflix all day the next.  Whether it’s going out for a delicious Sunday breakfast with my fiance; or cooking a beautiful dinner for my family on a Friday night; or taking my dogs Pongo & Percy for a walk down at the river. I focus on eating and moving in ways that I enjoy.

A healthy lifestyle is a forever kind of thing.. you may as well enjoy it! It’s all about making long-term life changes that you actually enjoy implementing. Balance is the key. In everything you do.

Today I have a balanced relationship with food, my body and myself. This means I don’t diet, and I don’t obsess about my weight. I released the need to be perfect, and stopped judging every flaw I saw. To me, self-love isn’t looking in the mirror and thinking you’re the hottest thing ever, it’s releasing the fight, the punishing and the beating up. So you get your life back. Sound good?

Healing your relationship with food, your body and yourself means so many things. But for me and my clients, it means space. Space to enjoy your life, your friends, family, job, hobbies, interests, dreams, goals, and small sacred moments. Everything you deserve to enjoy, and aren’t letting yourself right now. Dieting, controlling your food, and striving for the perfect body is simply exhausting. I want you to get your life back. I want you to find joy away from obsessing over food and weight.

So that’s what my balanced healthy lifestyle looks like, let's discover YOURS…

So that’s what my balanced healthy lifestyle looks like, let's discover YOURS…

I help men and women to create permanent change. And that starts with realising that weight loss and the perfect body won’t actually fix all your problems.

It’s realising that freedom, balance, peace, calm and quality of life are more important than anything. I’ve helped hundreds of people get off the diet wagon, forever, and break the black and white cycle that controls their mood, sanity and worth. I can help you create worth away from your weight, so that you can feel good not just temporarily, but for the long run, and because of who you are, not just what you weigh.

Hey! I’m Georgia.

RTH Nutritionist.

BSc (Nutr) & Bsc (Health Prom)

“I work with clients to help them achieve a balanced diet that doesn’t involve restricting foods.”

My relationship with food and approach to nutrition has evolved a lot through studying. My passion for nutrition started as a teenager when I started competitive cheerleading and dancing. I loved experimenting with different foods and at the time it was all about choosing the “healthiest” option. I thought I had to be very restrictive with my diet in order to be healthy and look my best and trialed a lot of different diet trends.

I went into studying Health promotion and Nutrition at university with the mindset of wanting to tell people how they should be eating. But this degree completely changed my perspective on food and nutrition. Learning the science behind food and the myths around many health trends made me realise the impact diet culture and the need to eat “perfect” has had on people’s relationship with food including my own. This has inspired me to do my Masters of Dietetics to help people heal their relationship with food and adopt a balanced diet that’s realistic and enjoyable for them.

For me, having a balanced diet has involved really working on my relationship with food and allowing myself to enjoy all types of foods without labelling them as “good” or “bad”.  I work with clients to help them achieve a balanced diet that doesn’t involve restricting foods, and this can mean including their favourite foods in their plan every day to help them enjoy what they are eating.
