So… What type of workout should you do for fat loss?
If you’re like many, the first thought that springs to mind when contemplating fat loss workouts is… cardio!!
Lace up those running shoes, embark on a lengthy 45-minute jog, or perhaps dive into an intense 60-minute HIIT session – sound familiar?
But hold on a moment!
There exists a simpler, yet potentially more effective route for achieving sustainable fat loss.
Can you guess what it is?
Weight training.
Trust me, it’s not about bulking up but sculpting those curves in all the right places – think toned arms and a peachy bum!
Cardio isn’t the only fat-burning avenue
Weight training frequently falls by the wayside in discussions about fat loss.
Surprisingly, it stands as one of the most potent forms of exercise for achieving this goal.
Studies have revealed that you burn more calories in the hours following a weight training session, compared to a cardio workout.
Additionally, muscle tissue also burns more calories than fat tissue does each day (even when you’re not exercising).
And weight training is one way to increase your muscle mass, which means you’ll continue burning calories at a higher rate even when you’re resting!
So, if weight training is missing from your routine, ask yourself why?
Is it because you have a preconceived idea that women shouldn’t lift weights?
Maybe you’re intimidated by the idea of entering the weights room and not having a clue where to start?
These are normal concerns to have, but let me assure you – weight training is for everyone, regardless of age, gender, or fitness level.
Whether you use dumbbells, barbells, resistance bands, or your own body weight, there are endless ways to incorporate strength training to enhance your fat loss efforts and help you achieve your goals more efficiently.
