Happy New Year! Now let’s talk about health goals in 2023.
Because the new year often means a new start.
And honestly, that’s okay!
The holidays can be a beautiful time to reflect on your relationship with food. And it makes complete sense to want to dive into healthier habits after a few too many chocolates or cocktails.
If you want to make changes and improve your health in 2023, I’m in full support.
But I also want to make sure whatever changes you make last.
And to do that, you need to avoid these 3 common mistakes.
1. Overhauling everything –
Trying to change absolutely everything at once can feel great at the start.
But after a while, it’s overwhelming and unsustainable, and honestly, expensive.
Remember, our goal here is to create change that lasts. That means it’s essential to go one (little) step at a time and focus on habit building.
2. Eliminating foods that bring you joy –
Chocolate, pasta, chips, pizza all have a place in a healthy diet. They really do!
When you’re looking to improve your health, we want to put the focus on nutrient-dense foods like fruits, veggies, whole grains and lean proteins.
But absolutely no one can stick to an eating plan that neglects satisfaction.
3. Wanting a quick fix –
Diets, detoxes, and quick fix promises are far more exciting and intriguing than thinking of the long-term, right?
But guess what, they aren’t sustainable or else you’d try 1 of them and be done because they gave you amazing, long-lasting, life-giving, abundant, and wonderful results…
It’s 100% possible to improve your eating habits in a way that truly sticks this year.
