Here’s how to become more in touch with your body and mind and feel more positive and productive throughout the day:
1. Wake up one hour earlier than you do now – We’re used to waking up just before we have to get to work, or to a class, or to take children to school, leaving us “just enough time”. But this causes us to neglect exercise, skip breakfast, or miss out on mindfulness.

2. Screen free time – After waking, most of us go from out cold to processing mountains of information within minutes every morning by checking our phones. Humans are not built for that kind of sudden transition, mentally or physically.
Having screen free time for the first hour after waking, will reduce stress, pressure and anxiety, leading to a pleasant, productive day ahead.

My morning routine is something I stick to every day – even on weekends – because it helps me feel calm, energised and excited for the day ahead, and sets me up for a day of healthy choices.
