7 Reasons Why You Might Be Struggling With Staying Consistent
Are you struggling to stay consistent? Here are some reasons why –
1. Your definition of consistency is all wrong – Does it include the words ‘should’ and ‘have to’? Does it make you believe that you’re not staying on track? Does it account for times where you might not be able to stick to everything?
2. You have really high expectations – Your expectations of what you ‘should’ be doing don’t match up with your reality.
3. You feel forced and feel resistance to getting it done – Are you trying to stick to something because you think you ‘should’, instead of doing it because it feels aligned with you?
4. You forget to have fun – Don’t like running? don’t do it! Find something you enjoy doing and build your consistency on that.
5. Subconsciously, you know you don’t want to do it – if you have a long history of dieting, sticking to yet another one might feel hard because subconsciously you’re done. You don’t want to restrict food and avoid things you love, but you feel like you should – because that’s what diets do right?
6. You’re following a plan that’s not fitted with your personality – No matter how many people were successful doing it.. if it doesn’t match your personality and who you are as a person, you’re going to have a hard time sticking to it.
7. You believe that consistency can’t change – This comes back to your definition of consistency – do you allow what being consistent looks like for you to change based on what’s going on in your life?
