3 Surprising Tips From A Nutritionist
The biggest mistake I see people make when they’re making changes to their lifestyle/diet is trying to go ALL IN and be “perfect”.
Then, when it backfires, they feel like a failure and then give up. So I’m here to tell you your diet DOESN’T have to be perfect! It has to be realistic and flexible, or you’re going to find it really hard to be consistent.
You DON’T need a perfect diet to have a healthy diet. In fact, your diet is likely to be healthier overall because you’ll be more consistent when it’s not “all or nothing”.
Here are my top 3 tips to help make your diet more realistic and flexible:
- Not every carb has to be a “healthy” carb – Yes, choosing choosing high fibre carbs is important. But sometimes adding a hash brown to your breakfast adds satisfaction and that matters too.
- Condiments are allowed and help make your meal satisfying – Yes, being mindful of what you’re choosing is important. But adding some mayo to your sandwich adds enjoyment to your meal.
- It’s ok to repeat favourite meals that work for you again and again – Yes, variety is important, but not every meal has to be a masterpiece or a brand new creation. It’s helpful to have a short rotation of go-to’s!
